The Cité universitaire de Genève is becoming a non-smoking facility
As of February 2026, the Cité universitaire de Genève will become an entirely non-smoking facility. Smoking will be prohibited in all private and common areas of the residence. Individuals who wish to smoke will be required to go outside, at the base of the buildings.
Implementation of shared housing with chosen gender composition
Starting from February 2026, the Cité universitaire de Genève will introduce, on a pilot basis, two shared apartments with four bedrooms each, reserved exclusively for women. These shared apartments will operate under specific regulations, including the complete absence of any male presence, during both daytime and nighttime hours. The terms of the project may evolve depending on feedback from the residents involved.
Registration for the 2026 fall semester

The registration portal for the 2026 Fall semester will open on Sunday March, 1st, 2026 !

You can submit your application online until May 31st, 2026.

Start Fall semester 2025

Cité universitaire will start to welcoming new students on :

- Friday September 5th, 2025 for the building A and from Monday September 8th, 2025 for buildings C and D.

To better assist you when you arrive, we have altered our Reception opening hours from 5 to 9 September 2025 to 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. non-stop and Sunday September 7th, 2025 from 8 a.m to 12 p.m and from 1 p.m to 5 p.m.

Outside these hours, please call our watchman to obtain the keys of your room : 0041 22 839 22 39 (no sms) or dial 2239 with the phone right next to the Reception.

We remind you that it is mandatory to provide us with your security deposit (Firstcaution or bank) attestation to obtain the keys of your accomodation.

Opening of our Recycling Station!
Thanks to donations from departing residents, we have set up a Recycling Station. This allows new residents to reuse dishes and various household items as part of an anti-waste initiative. These items are available free of charge; however, availability depends solely on the number of donations received. We do not collect bedding, towels, or food. Please contact Reception to access our Recycling Station.
